We started EXR to create a contemporary brokerage firm within an industry that has worked a certain way for a long time.
We wanted to build a brand that didn't feel "salesy", something more refined, understated, and considerate of the sensitivities that come with selling a family property, helping a business owner expand, finding someone a home, or ensuring a client achieves a return on their investment.
We began our journey in 2014 from an old loft in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We had one agent who is still with us, a few computers, and very little idea what we were embarking on, which would soon prove to be the hardest thing us three had ever done.
As long nights, early mornings, mistakes and successes all passed rapidly, "it was working". We've always loved the phrase a new twist on an old quote, "the road to success is always under construction". We believe our persistence and ability to adapt has awarded us the progress we've had thus far, and will continue to serve us for years to come.
Today, just a few years later, three offices across Brooklyn, 150 people, two divisions and a dominant New Development Marketing division, we're getting better, faster, than ever before.
For us, this journey has just begun, and will continue through the hard work of our people, our families, and our friends who have sacrificed more than can be put into words. We look forward to creating something that will outlive us and be fruitful for all involved, for generations to come.
